Fax Tertiary Control Reserve Bids

In special tight market situations (reduced supplies, technical problems ....), which are determined by the system operator, AGCS has the right to permit tertiary control reserve bids sent by fax. The time period for admitting fax bids is defined by AGCS in agreement with the system operator. These fax bids are a special measure for improving liquidity in the balance area Ost.

The faxes sent by balance energy providers are forwarded to the system operator and the balance group coordinator. As the pre-trade period is longer for this measure (150 minutes), tertiary control reserve volumes may also be made available from imports and consumer blackouts.

Sequence

The tertiary control reserve resources applied follow the demand sequence below:

Bids on the 16:00 hrs Merit Order List have the highest priority and are ranked higher. The 16:00 hrs bids are followed by the additional bids from the 24-hour market opening (currently not operational). Fax bids that meet the market rules come after additional bids. Bids that do not meet the criteria are also accepted, but are ranked after all tertiary control reserve bids.
