Load Profiles
Calculation of consumption data via load profiles
Grid operators are obliged to submit consumption data for all their suppliers and balance groups on an hourly basis. Consumption data which is not determined on the basis of metered values shall be calculated on the basis of synthetic load profiles. Consumption data is summed up on an hourly basis and is submitted once per month to AGCS.The standardised load profiles are applied for the consumption groups heating (detached house, appartment complex, commercial premises) and process gas (cooking, hot water, commercial processes). Once per year metering values from the consumption groups are recorded and on basis of these metering values the 2nd Clearing is performed 14 months after the 1st Clearing.
The calculation method for the load profiles is based on statistical data. Starting with April a new calculation method will be applied.
Load profiles depending on temperature:
AGCS calculates data files for each consumption group based on daily provided temperature data from the Zentralanstalt für Meteorologie und Geodynamik (ZAMG; „Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics”) which are submitted to the grid operators and on demand also to suppliers. These data files are used by the grid operators for the calculation of the suppliers’ hourly consumption. If the temperature data can't be sent by ZAMG, the temperature data of the day before will be used for calculation at 6 pm.
Load profiles for process gas:
Once a year a file containing the load profiles for process gas is issued and published (see AGCS homepage “Load Profiles YYYY“).
On the following pages you will find the expert opinion on load profiles as well as the data files of load profiles for process gas. The classification of the grids regarding the temperature zones can also be found on the homepage.
Further information on the individual load profiles are available in the Rules and Regulations in Chapter 4 of the Other Market Rules.
