market operator & billing agent) in the balance area Ost calculates the balancing energy values
for the market participants of the Austrian gas market based on the planned volumes of gas fed into
or taken out of the grid, and the actual values.
In this function as a central and independent imbalance settlement responsible party, AGCS
also organizes a competitive balancing energy market. AGCS not only guarantees efficient and
inexpensive settlement based on the unique know-how of the company, but, above all, neutrality and
confidentiality vis-à-vis all involved market participants as well as compliance with security and
control mechanisms that ensures the ideal protection of all data used by AGCS.
